Quilted with Love
Beginning February 1, the Community Literacy Foundation will host “Quilted with Love,” a month-long online baby quilt auction. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Foundation’s Rooted in Reading project. Rooted in Reading is a community initiative that provides books to local pediatrician offices to be distributed at the baby’s one-month wellness visit. This initiative aims to educate new parents on the benefits of reading to their children beginning in infancy. By gifting a book to each newborn and their families, the Community Literacy Foundation upholds its mission of instilling and increasing a love of reading for community members of all ages.
HOW IT WORKS
We post a new featured quilt each weekday, all handmade and donated by eight local artisans and quilters.
You bid by commenting on the original post between 7 AM and 9 PM (CT). You win that day’s quilt and book pairing if you’re the highest bidder at the end of the bidding window.
We use the proceeds to benefit our Rooted in Reading initiative, providing books to local pediatricians to hand out at each newborn’s one-month wellness visit.
You’ll want to find us on Facebook. Be sure to like and follow our page so you don’t miss a quilt.
Winners may pick up their quilts at Neighborhood Reads Bookstore (401 Lafayette St., Washington, MO 63090) or request domestic shipping for a flat fee of $7.99.
